QiYi Fisher Cube — a classic Fisher cube, perfect as a first shape-mod

QiYi Fisher Cube is a 3×3-based shape-mod: inside it uses a regular 3×3 mechanism, but the cut lines are offset, so after just a few turns the puzzle loses its cubic shape and turns into a tilted, “broken” figure.
Its size is about 56–57 mm and the weight is roughly 100 g, so it feels solid and reliable in the hand without being too heavy.

This is not an official WCA event — it’s meant for collections, fun and developing spatial thinking.

Turning feel

QiYi Fisher Cube turns smoothly and lightly for a budget shape-mod:

layers turn evenly without strong catches;
the overall feel is more smooth and controllable than ultra-fast;
even in heavily “broken” shapes the puzzle remains quite manageable as long as you don’t force the turns.

In terms of feel, it’s basically “a normal 3×3 that suddenly became tilted”: the mechanism is familiar, but recognition and solving become much more interesting.

Mechanism and stability

classic screw-and-spring mechanism, no magnets;
piece geometry and rounded edges help the cube forgive small misalignments;
with decent turning, pops and serious lock-ups are rare, especially after some break-in and optional lubrication.
