Osnovna Stvar DOO is a small family-run company based in Tivat, Montenegro (founded in 2022).
It’s the legal entity behind slagalica.me and several educational projects built around twisty puzzles: Rubik’s cubes, pyraminxes, snakes, megaminxes and more.

The company combines three roles:

• a puzzle and accessories shop,
• an educational partner for schools and clubs,
• a local driver of the speedcubing community in Montenegro.

History & development

• Starting point (2022). Osnovna Stvar DOO began as a multi-purpose business idea, but soon focused on puzzles, inspired by the founder’s son, speedcubing and the emerging cubing scene.
• Shift toward slagalica.me. The online shop became the core: first classic 3×3s, then other WCA puzzles and shape-mods, plus in-house accessories and printed guides.
• Education & clubs. The company moved beyond online sales: it runs cube and puzzle classes in local schools, language schools and a chess club in Tivat, as well as workshops at festivals and public events.
• Competitions. Osnovna Stvar DOO helps organise official WCA competitions in Montenegro (for example Tivat Open 2024), supporting the creation of a regular competitive scene in the country.

What they do & what makes them different

1. Shop & assortment

• curates puzzles from major brands (MoYu, GAN, QiYi, etc.) with a focus on proper speedcubes and good educational models;
• adds their own materials: how-to booklets, beginner sets, pouches, stands and simple cubing accessories;
• focuses on making it easy in Montenegro to buy not “a random cube”, but something that really fits the user’s level and goals.

2. Education & schools

• runs puzzle clubs and classes in schools and learning centres in Tivat;
• introduces children to basic algorithms and logic of speedcubing, improving attention, fine motor skills and spatial thinking;
• helps schools and clubs use cubes as a tool for after-school activities and “smart play”.

3. Community & events

• takes part in organising and promoting WCA competitions in Montenegro;
• cooperates with the local Speedcubing Montenegro community;
• helps newcomers take their first step in competitions: explains rules, formats and how to prepare without fear.

Unlike big global manufacturers, Osnovna Stvar DOO is a local partner:
they don’t produce cubes themselves, but select, explain and adapt them for real people, schools and events in Montenegro.
